These environments bolster Frazers Agrochem rigorous quality procedures by providing a layer of environmental control to further reduce any potential contaminant in the final product.

SAFETY

We can handle a wide range of chemicals including corrosive, toxic, flammable, oxidising and environmentally hazardous products. Safety is of utmost importance in our facility and we carry out regular risk assessments to ensure safe operations in every job we take on.

We also invest highly in training of staff to ensure all products are handled in a safe manner. This includes manual handling of heavy packages and know the risk that poses from hazardous chemicals.

GRAIN TREATMENTS

At Frazers Agrochem we promote different options of grain preservation methods on farm so end users can preserve and store grain safely, conveniently and efficiently.

PROPIONIC ACID

Propionic acid has an energy value of 1.5 times that of barley, so as well as preserving the grain it also adds to its energy value.

1

Flexible Harvest

With Propionic treatment, harvesting can take place when there is still surface dampness on the grain, dew or rain. Harvesting can start earlier in the morning or after rain and continue later at night, giving a quicker more flexible harvest, which leaves extra time for autumn cultivations.

2

Reduced Loss

By harvesting before grain is fully ‘ripe’ a higher yield is also obtained, reduced shedding losses may save 200kg per hectare.

3

Moisture Regulation

Natural vitamin E levels in moist grain, whether treated or not, are destroyed during storage. When moist grain forms a major part of the diet a mineral/vitamin supplement high in vitamin E should be used.

Grain at 18% moisture will require application of 7 to 8 litres of propionic acid per tonne and an additional half a litre added for each percentage of moisture above 18%. Application to rolled cereals or beans should be increased by 10%.

Moisture levels should be checked regularly during the day to ensure that the correct application rates are used as it has been well established that under treatment of grain will fail to halt mould and bacterial activity.

4

Treatment Rate

The flow rate of the auger should also be checked to calculate the treatment rate.

5

Storage

Treated grain can be stored simply on a dry floor. It should not be stored with untreated grain.

PROPIONIC NC

This is a propionic acid-based product but it’s a non-corrosive product therefore safe to us and no harm is caused to machines or stores in the process. Propionic NC is a nearly completely neutralized propionic acid product with a pH value of 6.8, which has easier and safer handling properties, but requires higher dosages of product compared to Propionic Acid

EUREAKA

Developed by The Frazers Group

Developed after extensive research and trials this is a cost effective, high protein feed material that enable farmers, nutritionists and feed manufacturers to maximise the potential of their crops, feeds and diets.

Easy to use in a once in contact with moisture Eureaka releases ammonia into the subject crop or feed destroying microbes, moulds and mycotoxins - effectively sterilising the crop.

The resultant crops and feeds are alkaline, stable, increased in protein content and as the ammonia also reacts with lignin in plant cell walls, have enhanced digestibility. The high pH in the treated materials helps buffer the rumen against excess acidity and allows a whole new approach to feedstuffs and feeding techniques.
